December Quinn lives in England with her husband and their two little girls (whom readers of the blog will come to know as the Princess-6, and the Faery-2).
That really does say it all, but I'll add to it anyway, so you have something more to read.
I was born in Illinois and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, a fantastic place to grow up. I have an older brother who forced me to watch the animated version of The Lord of the Rings almost every day, giving me a life-long crush on Aragorn son of Arathorn and a thing for men who fight with swords (like Conan. Love Conan.) He also made me play baseball in the street every summer, and I can still throw a pretty good curveball.
Following an illustrious high school career (notable for an enormous amount of skipped classes-sorry, Mom and Dad) I moved to Florida, where my Mom had moved several years before. There in the tropical heat, I discovered that I am definitely a winter person, and that my childhood passion for writing had not waned. I also discovered a passion for my wonderful husband. We've been together for ten years, married for seven.
It wasn't until after the Princess was born that I seriously started writing-or rather, that I actually finished a project. The first was a romance novel that I now realize is, well, pretty awful. I entered it in RWA's Golden Heart, where it did better than it deserved. It is hidden in a dark corner somewhere now.
But I was hooked on writing-especially writing romance. There's something about writing these stories-creating these people and the world they live in, finding out how they fit together, and the knowledge that you're making people happy-that I love. I love that when I read a romance, I'm getting a happy ending. I love that reading a romance makes me see the world as a better place. And if the romance is super-sexy, that's even better!
So after twelve years in South Florida, I decided that sweltering heat, hurricanes, and flying roaches the size of my fist were, hmmm, just not what I wanted out of a home. So my hubby (a Brit) and I packed up the kids and headed to Blighty.
And here we are. I write and watch the kids and he leaves me every day to go to the Real World, and we meet up again every night to watch some TV, have a few laughs and a cocktail or two, and go to bed. Think whatever you want there.
Thanks for visiting the site, and reading all this, and please stick around!
